Alpha Mold is the result of a program R&D financed by ANVAR Pays de la Loire, developed with the help of SERAM, ENSAM of Angers and ICAM of Nantes.
This program was launched in 2000 by Bruno Bellouard, founder of the company and actual General Manager of Alpha 3D Group.
The process Alpha Mold comes from an easy thought : “why take time to cut off material which is useless?”
As we noticed that 80% of the mould price comes from the costs of the raw material and the delete costs during the setting in form by manufacturing, Alpha 3D research to create an easy and economical process to reduce the costs and the deadline.
Idea of the beginning : manufacture a mould by infusing material.
Result : a process with which the innovation is due to the creation of an alveolar structure. It enables to manufacture hollow tools by quick casting.
We replace the block of whole steel by using the the crude forge, which the moulds are drilled with numbers of cells directly by casting.
These cells, perpendicular to the split line of the mould, have the double advantages to spare material and to improve the thermal behaviour of the tool.
They increase tenfold the surface of the thermal exchanges in the mould and enable to let the cooland fluid circulate inside the cells.
Alpha Mold enables to obtain a more homogeneous thermal tool or on the contrary offers the possibility to create voluntary differences of temperature.
The process enables to optimize strongly the cooling time in the moulding cycle. Saving about 30% of time. |
